I think it’s safe to say, we deserve a vacation. What better place to release all of your frustration than a three day punk festival and bowling tournament? This is our fourth year of coming to this festival and it has made me so happy to be here this year, considering at one point I wasn’t sure I was going to make it.
There’s a lot of great things about this festival, but my favorite part is the people. Everyone is so kind to each other. Several bartenders have told me this one of their favorite festivals because the people that come each year are so nice.
One of my favorite things is to get to Vegas the day before it starts. Then you can watch the faces of all the people on their regular Vegas vacation as the punk population takes over downtown. I do not think it was the vacation they intended. I saw a guy walking down the street in a Trump shirt and I kept think he picked the wrong weekend to go to Vegas. This is a very anti MAGA crowd. Punks, as a whole, don’t give a fuck what people do with their lives as long as you don’t hurt other people. Just live your best life, whatever that may be.
At this festival, you can pretty much go to shows for about 18 hours a day if you want. There’s pool parties in the morning, then the festival, then club shows at night. It’s definitely a marathon and you must choose wisely. Last year was a friend’s first year and she bought a bunch of club show tickets too. I looked at her and said “I admire your optimism.” I get it though, it can be hard to pick and choose what bands you want to see.
Yesterday was our third day in Vegas and the first official day of the festival. On Friday I finally got to see Mariachi El Bronx! I had tickets to see them in 2020 but the lockdown happened. I was determined to see them this year, and they did not disappoint.

The festival started on Saturday and it was so much fun. My favorites of the day were Lambrini Girls, The Adicts, Bouncing Souls, and Cock Sparrer! What a great start!

Cock Sparrer was my favorite of the day and the perfect end to the day. I think their last song of the set sums it up the best.
“Just remember, out there somewhere
You’ve got a friend, and you’ll never walk alone again.”
Today is day two and we have a long day ahead of us. Guess it’s time to drink some coffee, get some breakfast, and start the day!
